My Story

It all started off in a tiny village in what was then West Germany in the 1960’s. Growing up in a community with 230 other people certainly gave me a sense of belonging.

However my sense of discovery and adventure was not served in a small place like that and at 20 years old I decided to go travelling and explore other parts of the world.

I travelled extensively for the next 18 months through Europe and Asia. Loving every minute of it. I ended up in Australia where the favourable weather, beautiful beaches, landscapes and especially the positive and relaxed attitude of the people conquered my heart.

As many immigrants do, I landed on my feet in ‘down under’ and had an array of opportunities presented to me.

Starting afresh with only a backpack in my possession and a limited grasp of the language in a new country had its many challenges. There was no fallback position, I could only go forward. However as I discovered being at ground zero also gave me this great sense of freedom and being able to do anything I liked as there were no limitations and no preconceived ideas.

Arriving without an extended list of friends or indeed any family was an exceptional learning experience that has guided me all the way to today: You can do anything, it is only the limitations that we put on ourselves or let other people put on us that really limit us.

I don’t see myself as an immigrant anymore however I have kept the memory of new opportunities and the importance of taking that first step in my close personal arsenal.

Five years ago I started another adventure with the birth of my son Liam and 2 years later my second son Finn.

Motherhood truly reaches deep into ones being. It brings out the best in you. It teaches you the magnificence of life and how precious every moment is.

I have always had a passion for learning particularly about health and nutrition. However since I had children I have understood the true gift and importance of a healthy mind and body.

I have now found a way of combining my interest in health and the flexibility of working from home. And it is a dream come true.

 At times it feels like I have come a long way since my journey began in this little village and yet this is only the beginning.
