The Clock Is Ticking, Better Hurry
How often do you find yourself procrastinating? That the project due next week can wait. That the fishing trip with your family can wait. That the visit to your elderly parents can wait. That the health screening can wait. That the meal with your best friend can wait. That your reading can wait. That your dreams can wait.
Our time on earth is limited. We do not live forever. Yet, we seem to forget this and live as if there is always a tomorrow. We postpone the things we need to do, the time we need to spend with our friends and loved ones as well as our dreams, thinking that time is always on our side. And we tell ourselves that, one of these fine days, we will find a time to do it.
It is common for students to wait till the last minute before preparing for examination. It is common for tax payers to file their tax return on the very day of the deadline. It is not surprising to see passengers arriving at the boarding gate seconds before the gate closes. But, the problem is, we do not know when the gate will close on us. There is no guarantee that we will live up to a ripe age of 80 years old, or for that matter, any age.
Don’t gamble with time. The clock is ticking, better hurry. Don’t get busy over things that will not matter at the end of the journey. Do the things that are close to your heart. Make time for your loved ones. If there is something that you have always wanted to do, but have not done so for one reason or another, hesitate no further. Do it before it’s too late as there will not be a last call for boarding to your next destination.

Johanna, if people realized more the points you lifted today, I believe our marketplace would take vital attention to these concepts. I know with our economy it has made our lives a bit challenging in some area or another. With your advise on clocking our time values will assure us to be aware of what we are doing to know where we are going…

Johanna,
This is info we should all pay attention to. I have always tried to live my life by doing what was most important and not putting it off. Never put off to tomorrow what you can do today!
I strive not to live a life of regret but purpose.

It’s all about the people and priorities. “Things” have to be taken care of but if “things” get in the way of people, we need to look at our priorities. I regularly check my priorities and make sure the people in my life aren’t being neglected and that they feel loved and appreciated.

Thanks for your comment, Teresa. I agree from time to time we need to look at our priorities and reassess.
I very much appreciate your comment.
Have a good day.

Hi Lori,
I agree with your comment wholeheartedly.
It is easy to do and easy not to do – you have the choice on all tasks and issues to do them or not to do them. Doing them gives you the slight edge.
Many thanks
Johanna
Hi Johanna
Ahhh that ticking clock thing. I agree entirely. So much time wasted – so many decisions to make – so much to take our attention away from what is important.
I will never forget Tony Robbins sharing this with a bunch of us:
It is in our moments of decision that our destiny is created!
So true. When we put things off then we are causing painin our lives. Better to do it, do it right an do it right now.
Thank you for the reminder

Hi Johanna,
I have been guilty of procrastination a few times…lol…mostly because I am so busy and over do my self which causes me to be last minute on somethings. I agree that if we keep focused and try not to procrastinate then we will find that we are more balanced and can accomplish more. In fact this is one of the things I am working on for 2011. So far so good! Thanks for the post and reminding me how important this is.

Hi LeeAnn,
thanks for your post. Glad to hear that it has reminded you of the importance of staying on top of your work schedule on a consistent basis. I realised also how important it is to reward onself for a job well done. In the rush I tend to forget about that one.
All the best for 2011!
